What about the citizenship test?

Most people applying for Australian citizenship will be required to take the citizenship test, which is designed to allow citizenship applicants to demonstrate they understand the nature of their application, they have a basic knowledge of the English language, and an adequate knowledge of Australia and the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship.

What if my application is refused?

If the Department refuses your application, you have the right to ask for a review of the decision by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal​. Your letter of notification will advise you where to lodge your application for review, and the time limits for applying.
